People

Day 2 of the NYC trip, and it was a hot one today, folks.  Mid 90-degree temperatures, combined with humidity that you just don’t see in Utah or Los Angeles, can make things a bit uncomfortable.  So much worse, though, than the weather are the throngs of people that are around.  They’re everywhere you go in this city.  Every shape, size and color you can imagine.  We took the subway up to the Bronx to catch a Yankees game today.  Wow.

Now, it’s no secret that I’m not the biggest fan of people in general, but I’m not exactly a misanthropist.  I just think most folks are dumb.  This, though, this is a whole other level.  I think isolation can make some people really weird, but I’ve come to decide that this kind of population density creates a much more bizarre person.

And I can see why.  It’s already starting to drive me a little crazy.  But the strangest thing about it all is that I can’t help but love this city.
